I think this also helps explain negative community perceptions of policing — beyond the homicide gap there are 6.3 car thefts per officer in District 6 vs 3.4 in District 2.

Compounding the issue is that the highest crime neighborhoods with the most overtaxed local cops also have the least experienced officers.
